Carboxyl functionalised particles
PolymP®-H are functionalised, monodisperse, spherical particles with a high concentration of carboxyl groups.
PolymP®-H are highly indicated to couple amino- containing ligands, including proteins and biomolecules with available amine groups.
PolymP®-H have a high density of surface accessible carboxyl groups providing more reactive sites for conjugation, while effectively masking the underlying polymer surface with negative charges. This helps to maintain particle suspension through negative charge repulsion and prevents nonspecific binding or protein denaturation.
Carboxyl groups form very stable bonds with primary amines such as exist in the side chain of lysine residues, which are generally abundant and readily accessible in proteins.
Many carboxyl groups per particle plus several amines per protein result in many biomolecules per particle.
Once a protein is immobilised, the particles and linkage are stable in most binding and elution conditions typically used in affinity chromatography or immunoassay, enabling prepared particles to be used for multiple round of procedures.
Total carboxylation degree of PolymP®-H is greater than the rest of similar particles in the market (900 μmol COOH group per gram of particle) ensuring a high and more efficient load of biomolecule.
